adventure to battad, banaue, philippines

I remembered to post this picture because of Julia - reported to be missing in this very beautiful place...

"Alone she went through the mountains. Campbell went missing on Easter Sunday while hiking from Battad village to Banaue town wearing only sandals - she had bought a bus ticket to return to Manila by April 9, indicating she did not plan to extend her stay or make a long hike to a spot to view the area's famed mountainside rice terraces. Campbell is one of 137 Peace Corps volunteers currently in the Philippines. Everyone's hoping that it was an accident and that she didn’t suffer so much. No new updates on what really happened."

It's so sad to hear the news since I enjoyed my almost 1 day trek at that same place -- due to typhoon "Paeng" that hit Battad. Though there were landslides and rain was pouring, I still enjoyed the hike. Falls on the mountain side was spectacular! Danger never entered my mind though i was almost trapped in a landslide.
